Introduction

Union Junior College of Education, Hatampura, Ahmednagar formerly known as Union Training college is the oldest and first Teacher Training College in Maharashtra, established by the American Missionaries in 1864. Since from 158 years this college is preparing and providing best quality teachers to the all communities in Maharashtra.

When the missionaries started this training programme, they himself was preparing syllabus according the needs of different communities of our country. And giving training to the only boys student which are living with their wives and children. Missionaries provided the accommodation and stipend also to each family and was also giving the jobs in mission's schools. Main aim was to lowerdown the illiteracy of the community.

Union Junior College conducting 2 years Diploma Course having Ist and IInd year, each year having the strength of 40 student, taking Co-education. For Teachers training programme there must be practising school attached to the Teacher training School. Model Practicing School is the school attached to the Union Junior College of Education where the teacher’s trainee are taking experience of teaching from std Ist to IVth. The college have well equipped Science Laboratory, Computer Room, Library, Psychological and Geographical Workshops by which teacher’s trainee taking the full educational joy and Knowledge.

Although the College building is old but all facilities like NCTE's Norms were constructed and developed by the missionaries already built in that old days. All types of play grounds are present in the huge premises. All the staff is as per NCTE's Norms and Teaching work is being carried out properly.

Each Teacher trainee have the wish to take the Teacher's Education in this scenic environmental place.
